The University of Michigan Center for Innovation (UMCI) offers educational services and workforce development opportunities to Detroit residents and the surrounding communities. In collaboration with the City of Detroit, we provide free or low-cost programs that empower Detroit citizens to develop new skills and strengthen their communities.
Opening in Spring 2027, UMCI’s state-of-the-art facility in Downtown Detroit will serve as a hub for research, education, and entrepreneurship, fostering growth and innovation in the surrounding neighborhoods.
