Since 2010, the Michigan Engineering Zone (MEZ) has been connecting professional engineers, University of Michigan students, and other volunteers with Detroit-area high schools to create a community of learning through FIRST Robotics. Students learn industry-standard techniques to design, build, program, and test competitive robots for local FIRST Robotics Competitions. The MEZ supports approximately 20 high school robotics teams annually, providing build space, tools and machines, training and support, and adult mentors to assist teams in reaching their competition and learning goals.
How to Join
- If you are a high school student or parent, reach out to your school directly to inquire if your school has a FIRST Robotics team and how to get involved.
